The Gingin Observatory

The Gingin Observatory, housed in the Southern Cross Cosmos building, is your stairway to the stars.  Take a tour of the universe through the eyes of our Astronomers and be truly enchanted by the mysteries waiting to be unravelled.  Our Astronomy presentations are fun for all ages and having the clearest skies in the world, your sure to see some fantastic views.  Watch the observatory roof open and unlock an amazing world just waiting to be explored!

Visit the space observatory and look through the largest telescope for public access in Australia, the 25-inch Obsession.  The observatory also houses two Meade LX200 12inch computerised telescopes, a Celestron 14inch Telescope and a Meade Newtonian 16inch Telescope.

Stargazing evenings include an informative presentation in our theatre about our galaxy and solar system.  Using specialised computer software we will fly through our Milky Way Galaxy and beyond, exploring the many thousands of other galaxies out in our universe.
